1963 Gibson Firebird III finished in Cardinal/Ember Red
Here we have a 1963 Gibson Firebird III, re-finished in Cardinal/Ember Red by the renowned Luthier Yuuki McClure of PGV Player Grade Vintage.
This 1963 Firebird III has an aged vintage correct refinish in one of the most desirable colours, Ember Red. This guitar was found by Luthier Yuuki McClure in Australia, stripped, dyed black, roughly hogged out for Humbuckers and fitted with custom made mirror scratch plate, but otherwise sound and full or potential.
It now sports an aged and checked Cardinal/Ember Red pure nitro finish, 62’ Gibson made ‘Chris Issak’ mini hum buckers, and period parts and plastics, and is surely one of the coolest guitars you have ever seen.
Here’s how Gibson describes this guitar in the 1964 catalogue….
‘A solid performer in this in this new lineup of solid body guitars by Gibson.
Offers you all the range and versatility you could ask for, plus that sharpness in the treble range, and deep biting bass.
