Peacock Swallowtail Butterflies in an Antique Glass Dome
An eye-catching display of four Peacock Swallowtail butterflies, believed to be Papilio blumei, arranged beneath an antique glass dome on a black footed base. Their dark wings are crossed with luminous turquoise bands, finished with beautiful blue swallowtail tips.
Mounted at different heights on slender black supports, the butterflies create a beautifully sculptural arrangement, with intricate wing markings visible from both sides. The tall antique glass dome sits on a circular black base with small bun feet.
A wonderful cabinet-of-curiosities piece for a shelf, mantelpiece or sideboard, bringing an unexpected flash of colour amongst books and collected objects. An unusual gift for anyone drawn to natural history and decorative curiosities.
