A Pair of Cut Crystal Spirit Decanters, with Silver-Plate Labels c.1890–1910
£95.00
A handsome pair of square-form decanters, weighty in the hand and cut all over in a dense hobnail and diamond pattern. The faceted ball stoppers sit like cut jewels — the kind of thing made to be lifted slowly before a fire and set down with a satisfying note against the glass.
These two were almost certainly born a trio, locked into a tantalus — the three-bottle frame that kept the household spirits in plain sight but out of reach of light-fingered staff. The frame is long gone, as they so often are. What remains is a pair, orphaned from their set, marked still for SHERRY and WHISKY on fine chains.
Sold as a pair; a proper anchor for a drinks corner or a study shelf.
