Preserved Peacock Butterflies in Antique Glass Dome with Brass Base

£325.00

A striking display of two real preserved butterflies, believed to be green peacock swallowtails (Papilio blumei), sourced from a butterfly farm in Scotland.

Their vivid turquoise-green markings contrast beautifully with velvety black wings and delicate blue tails. Mounted at different heights on a discreet black stand, they are displayed beneath an antique glass dome with a softly rounded top.

The dome sits on a circular, stepped brass base with fine ribbed detailing, a warm patina and areas of tarnishing that give it wonderful character.

A beautiful cabinet-of-curiosities piece to style amongst antique books, on a mantelpiece or as a distinctive finishing touch to a console table.

Care: Keep out of direct sunlight to help preserve the butterflies’ colour, and display away from damp conditions. Handle carefully by the base.
